This 840-square-foot cottage was once the Betty May School of Dance—hence the dinged and pockmarked floors; more recently, San Francisco architects Boor Bridges renovated the space with garden-shop owner and hip horticulturist Flora Grubb. The space features a clever chimney/lightwell, which acts as a divider between the bedroom and living areas, and the bedroom opens onto a lightwell/patio with an irrigated vertical garden designed by Flora Grubb and a custom concrete soaking tub.
