The six-acre Devon Yard complex developed by Philadelphia-based URBN also is home to Terrain’s sister brands: Anthropologie, BHLDN, and the restaurant Amis Trattoria also are tenants.
Terrain sells plants, both for indoor and outdoor gardens, but that’s where its similarity to a typical garden shop or nursery center ends.
Coral bells, late-season annuals, and shrubs with red-tinged foliage are displayed together as an object lesson.
Container gardens and ceramic planters are on display with an inventive mix of edible and perennial plants.
Like Terrain’s other shops, the Devon Yard complex includes a restaurant where the menu changes seasonally.
On the menu, a harvest bowl with quinoa, summer vegetables, kale, falafel, and tahini vinaigrette.
Also in the complex is Terrain Gardens, a wedding and event space that includes a walled outdoor garden, an indoor reception room, and a covered porch (shown) suitable for cocktail receptions.
The high-ceilinged event space has reclaimed wood floors, farmhouse tables, and string lights someone else already hung for you.
