Meanwhile, on Remodelista: Outdoor Season

May 14, 2026

Things are heating up. And with the transition to warmer temps, we’re hankering to move more of our lives outside. Here, some recent outdoor inspo we spotted over on sibling site Remodelista…

We love how this room opens up completely to the outdoors. Equally impressive: the hardscaping. Notice how the floor transitions from limestone tile to pebble to concrete, with a square of grass serving as a path. To see the rest of this extraordinary project, check out Orchard House: A Flexible Family Compound in New Zealand, by Fearon Hay and Katie Lockhart. Terra-cotta everywhere. Clay tiled flooring was used in both the interior and exterior spaces for a seamless outdoor-indoor connection. Photograph by Agnese Sanvito, courtesy of Brisco Loran, from Kitchen of the Week: A Waste-Conscious Remodel for a Ceramic Tile Designer.
