Description from White Flower Farm
These stunning blooms stopped staff members in their tracks on a summer garden walk at the nursery. The compact plants produce a cluster of blossoms that open golden yellow flushed with a magenta red that intensifies with age. Superb planted singly in a container or given pride of place at the edge of the border.
This South African genus includes just 6 species of rhizomatous perennials. Although commonly called Calla Lilies, they are neither Callas (which belong to a separate genus in the same family) nor Lilies. Calla Lilies are hardly new to cultivation—their discovery by Western Europeans dates to the late 17th century. Callas flourish in full sun or part shade in well-drained soil.
