Many colors in our Thai ikat pillows are naturally sourced. Skilled artisans painstakingly extract dyestuffs from the bark, leaves, roots, and seeds of various plants to create the rich colors you see here. It takes more than a week of preparation to transform indigo leaves into a batch of deep blue dye. Once the color is prepared, cotton yarns are carefully tie-dyed in it before they are woven to create that distinctive, feathery look of an ikat.
