Carex elata ‘Aurea’ (Bowles Golden Sedge, wet meadow sedge). ‘Bowles Golden’ is a brilliant sedge which is perfect for brightening up and adding interest to shaded areas. It can also be used to fill gaps in borders and for planting by water. The variegation looks most spectacular in partial shade but the rich, fine yellow leaves look equally eye-catching in full sun. These are edged in green but can end up looking slightly bleached if grown in intense sun.
