McInturff Architects is a 6-person firm based in Bethesda, Maryland, with a diversified client base which includes residential, commercial and small institutional projects. It is our belief that it is possible to make a viable, vital practice with an orientation toward the design of highly crafted projects, including the entire range of services, from project programming through complete architectural and interior design.
Our process utilizes considerable interaction with our client and with a group of first-rate consultants with whom we regularly work, allowing us to tailor a project to the specific needs of the user.
Our work has been frequently published locally, nationally, and internationally. The firm has received more than 275 design awards, including a 2003 AIA Institute Honor Award for Interior Architecture, a 2005 AIA Institute Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design for the firm’s part in the design of Cady’s Alley in Georgetown, and, in 2006, a second Institute Honor Award for Interior Architecture for the Woolly Mammoth Theatre.
The work of the firm is the subject of two monographs. In Detail: McInturff Architects, was published in 2001 by The Images Publishing Group of Australia. In Residence: McInturff Architects. was released in 2007, also published by Images.
