Mother-in-law’s Tongue Snake Ornamental Plant: Small Sansevieria Laurentii
The Sansevieria Laurentii Snake Plant is native to South and West Africa. This rare decorative plant goes by many common names which are Good Luck Plant, Goldband Sansevieria, Variegated Snake Plant, Mother-in-law’s tongue, Viper’s Bowstring Hemp, Magic Sword, Laurentii Snake Plant, Laurentii Sansevieria Plant, S. Laurentii and is botanically known as Sansevieria Laurentii or Sansevieria trifasciata ‘Laurentii’.
The more common and popular species of Sansevieria has a tall, slender, stiff, slightly twisted sword-like leaf. This modern interior plant forms naturally in clumps growing up to16-44 inches tall and sucker freely. The attractive leaves of the Sansevieria Laurentii are flat, wavy, full and mild in coloration; dark green to light grey-green hue of color. The leaves consist of a distinct bright yellow edging that contrast against the deep green and light grey-green cross-banded center. Sansevieria Laurentii has become more and more popular over the past few years and has become a favorite in the garden of many because its immunity to neglect; in result this Sansevieria is sometimes referred to as a bulletproof plant.
