This two-part press made from solid, waxed beech wood is for making small seed pots from newspaper. A strip of double thickness newspaper is wound around the wooden core, folded back underneath and ‘screwed’ into the base. The resulting pot can be filled with compost for seeds and once the seedling is strong enough, it can be planted out together with the pot.
