This magical garden bench is made from solid English oak. The carefully sandblasted finish emphasises the fretwork construction of the back and highlights the grain of this truly British timber. The original example came from Saltram House on the banks of the river Plym, Devon. Robert Adam remodelled the house during the 1760s and employed Thomas Chip-pendale to make much of the furniture.
