Acclaimed multimedia and conceptual artist Mark Dion has created an unofficial guide to the High Line that creatively and entertainingly blends fact and fiction, encouraging viewers to question popular ideologies that define today’s “official” history of the elevated park. The often-humorous text includes “thoughts, musings, observations, and histories (alternative, conventional, and otherwise)” in sections such as “Facts, Myths & Rumors” and “Lost & Found.”
This fresh and irreverent collectible was published in an edition of 5,000 by Printed Matter, a world-renown non-profit publisher of artists’ books.
