Holiday Gift Guide 2025: For the Well-Dressed Gardener

December 2, 2025

If you’ve been keeping up with the zeitgeist, you probably already know that garden-wear (a subset of workwear) is trending. That’s a good thing for those of us who, even when we’re not kneeling in dirt, prefer hard-wearing, easy-going, gender-neutral clothing. Here, our gift guide picks for the gardener in your life (maybe that’s you!) who digs holes and fashion equally.

Above: On my wish list: Flora Animalia’s Cotton Agnes Shirt, made from lightweight organic Japanese cotton; $350.
Above: The unisex Easy Gardening Pant has reinforced knees, a tool pocket, and—my favorite feature—an elastic waistband; from $128 at Gardenheir in four different colors.
Really into this pair of retro-inspired Swafford Shorts from Gamine Workwear. It&#8\2\17;s made in Tennessee &#8\2\20;at one of the last fully analog factories left in the USA&#8\2\2\1;; currently on sale for \$\130.

Above: Chore coats are de rigueur streetwear these days, but they’ve always been a classic workwear staple. Le Laboureur’s Moleskin Work Jacket is $125 at Tourneur.
Above: There’s an entire Esquire story about how the jolie laide Plasticana Gardana Clogs (right) conquered Brooklyn last summer, but the recycled vinyl and hemp shoes first caught our attention back in 2018, when Remodelista and Gardenista favorite Salter House started importing them from France. They’re truly garden-to dinner footwear; the Sandana Jelly Sandals are $64 and the Gardana Clogs are $75.
From garden brand Niwaki, this Nizyū Kanō Rucksack is made with paraffin-coated Kurashiki canvas; \$\259. It&#8\2\17;s also available in &#8\2\20;Goma Black,&#8\2\2\1; but who can resist the &#8\2\20;Karashi Yellow&#8\2\2\1;?

Above: Gardeners generally prefer more muted colors, but a bright spot or two is always welcome. The Embroidered Tomato Cotton Bandana by Elizabeth Gillett is $34 at Terrain; and the Bloom Socks by of-the-moment accessories brand Maria La Rosa are $45.
Above: Let the headwear do the talking. The Botanist Hat is $32 at The Quiet Botanist; and Bram’s Fruit’s F*ck Off I’m Gardening Cap is $66 and available in a slew of colors.
