Indigo & Ochre Design is a full-service interior design firm based in Brooklyn. From our design studio in Prospect Heights, we source ethically produced goods and vintage and antique finds to craft enduring & individualised interiors for our clients.

Principal Shanti Crawford’s background in design, global sourcing, project management, human rights and international development makes for an outside-the-lines sensibility that informs every interior designed and the collaborations that make them possible.

We undertake projects of varying scope from conception to completion. At Indigo & Ochre Design, we believe in character, longevity, individuality and creativity and that good design spans all cultures and eras. Since we design homes for individuals, we work hard to craft spaces that reflect their priorities and personal histories.

The pieces we source for clients’ homes meet our criteria of having been ethically produced in a socially responsible manner:

we procure and fabricate locally whenever possible (Brooklyn making that easy);

we find antiques and vintage pieces at auction and around far-flung corners;

we work with international artisans and purveyors with whom we’ve established relationships of trust and mutual respect;

we find out where, how and by whom each element we source is made because we believe these origins matter;

and because we think that homes created in this manner feel different, look better and last longer.

We’re borough-proud but happy to travel…
