Presidio View

This family of four from Tokyo enlisted gamble + design to create a home informed by the visual language of Japan, translated for the Bay Area. The serene, light-filled home is imbued with subtle, carefully-crafted details, and custom pieces by a slew of talented California-based artisans. The stair enclosure, hewn in white oak, features exposed joinery, echoing the practices of Japanese building.

Victorian Flat in Pacific Heights

This lovely Victorian was in need of a full renovation and, most importantly,  functional improvements to suit this young family’s lifestyles. A beautifully utilitarian kitchen island was designed to accommodate more guests and maximize space by transitioning into an expandable dining table to accommodate.

San Francisco Home with a View

One of the uniquely beautiful things about San Francisco is the thick fog that frequently rolls in from the coast. It’s a familiar sight for this family of three from their incredible vantage point.

San Francisco Home with a View

We took cues from the cool and silvery tones of the fog to build the palette for this project, which included a kitchen, living areas, and three bathrooms.

Honey-toned wood floors contrast with the grey custom drapes. The space plan was oriented to accentuate the gorgeous views. Sophisticated pieces from Piet Boon and Moroso round out this very cool space.

Richmond Family Home

As busy working parents of four children, these clients’ number one priority was to make their home as livable and resilient as possible. Coming in at a close second place was to have their home reflect their taste – warm, modern, and unexpected.

Richmond Family Home

The heavily used kitchen was renovated and modernized with hardwearing finishes, while adding fun accents like the red-orange interior shelves and sliding ladder. Art, curated by g+d, was an important aspect of the design, as was keeping the original character of the home. The result is a highly durable space that will suit this family’s evolving needs.

Sea Ranch Bluff

After a long-term career in the industry, a contractor turned to Gamble + DESIGN to help build a one-of-a-kind Sea Ranch residence for himself and his wife. The LEED Platinum home maximizes the views from the seafront bluff lot and is designed to age with the couple into their golden years. The intensive ground-up project drew on all of Gamble + DESIGN’s multiple areas of expertise.
