Description from White Flower Farm

You will enjoy a profusion of dark and dainty flowers on this clump-forming Violet, with velvety petals among the darkest we’ve seen. In the center of each 1in bloom is a bright yellow eye with a halo of royal purple.

Viola is a valuable genus composed of over 400 species of perennials from the world’s temperate regions. Extensive hybridizing has resulted in many gradations of flower form and hardiness. The varieties we offer are reliably perennial for us. They prosper in full sun or partial shade (partial shade is always best in the South and the warmest reaches of Zones 9 and 10 in the West). Violas need even moisture and tolerate quite damp soil.
