Outdoor rugs: tricky to pick the right one. You want to create an irresistible place to lure you to read, nap, or have cocktails outside. What you want to avoid is turning the outdoors into a meek extension of indoor space. We compared several outdoor rugs side by side on Julie’s brick patio earlier this week and asked you to pick your favorite. (By the way, there’s still time to vote here.) Here are ten favorites:

Want a closer look at the four outdoor rugs that took a test drive on Julie’s mossy brick patio? See Help Me Choose an Outdoor Rug (or Have I Gone Too Far?).

Above: With a graphic blue-and-white print, the Alma Carpet from Brita in midnight blue is available in four sizes; a 170 centimeter by 250 centimeter (which measures roughly 5.5 feet by 8 feet), is $549 at Scandinavian Center. It’s pictured above in our London editor Christine Hanway’s garden (see more at Christine’s London Oasis).
